Event Details

Dates: February 15–19, 2025

Location: O2 Resort, 861 Seohak-ro, Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea

Registration Period: January 8-24, 2025

Registration Method: Apply through the Congress website (www.koreanbadukcongress.com)

Event Categories

- Players are automatically entered into the Main Event. Participation in other categories is optional.

- Guests may participate in the Omok and Alkkagi tournaments.

- Schedule:

  - Morning Matches: 10 AM–1 PM

  - Lunch Break: 1 PM–2 PM

  - Afternoon Matches: 2 PM

Participant Benefits

Free access to the gondola lift and snow sledding areas from February 17–19, 2025 (3 days).

Tournament Format

1. Format: League, Swiss System, or knockout tournaments, depending on participation.

2. Time Control:

   - Main Event: 30 minutes per player (time-out).

   - Other Categories: No official time control, though clocks may be used at the referee's discretion.

3. Handicap: Even matches with a 6.5-point komi.

4. Late Arrival: Players arriving 15 minutes late will forfeit the match.

5. Ranking:

   - Swiss League: Team wins > Individual wins > SOS > SOSOS > Draw.

   - Round Robin: Individual wins > Head-to-head > Draw.

6. Tiebreakers: Blitz games (10–20 seconds per move) will resolve ties.

7. Changes: Rules and schedules may adapt based on the number of participants and on-site circumstances.

8. Other: All unlisted matters follow Korea Baduk Association guidelines.

Participation Fee (Player or Guest)

Domestic Participant: 220,000 (KRW, 4 days, 8 meal tickets)

International Participant: 250,000 (KRW, 5 days, 10 meal tickets)

Accommodation Cost:

- Special rates for participants at O2 Resort.

- 100,000 KRW per night (5-person room)

1 person per room: 750,000 KRW
(Participation Fee 250,000 KRW + Accommodation 500,000 KRW)

2 people per room: 500,000 KRW per person

3 people per room: 416,000 KRW per person
(Participation Fee 250,000 KRW + Accommodation 166,000 KRW)

4 people per room: 375,000 KRW per person
(Participation Fee 250,000 KRW + Accommodation 125,000 KRW)

5 people per room: 350,000 KRW per person
(Participation Fee 250,000 KRW + Accommodation 100,000 KRW)
